LogCLEF 2011 Multilingual Log File Analysis: Language Identification, Query Classification, and Success of a Query
نویسندگان
چکیده
Since 2009 LogCLEF has been the initiative within the CrossLanguage Evaluation Forum which aims at stimulating research on user behavior in multilingual environments and promote standard evaluation collections of log data. During these editions of LogCLEF, different collections of log dataset were distributed to the participants together with manually annotated query records to be used as a training or test set. In this LogCLEF 2011 edition, a Web based interface to annotate log data was designed and realized on the basis on the experience of past participants for different tasks: language identification, query classification, and query drift. The data and the results produced by the participants are analyzed and discussed.

Multilingual Log Analysis: LogCLEF
The current lack of recent and long-term query logs makes the verifiability and repeatability of log analysis experiments very limited. A first attempt in this direction has been made within the CrossLanguage Evaluation Forum in 2009 in a track named LogCLEF which aims to stimulate research on user behaviour in multilingual environments and promote standard evaluation collections of log data. W...

This paper describes the analysis we performed for the query success task of LogCLEF 2011. In particular, we address the issue of query refinement. The motivating assumption of our work is that query success can be improved by a system that can make good query refinement suggestions. We investigate how log files as provided in LogCLEF can assist in learning good suggestions. We used the distrib...

This paper describes the participation of DAEDALUS at the LogCLEF lab in CLEF 2011. This year, the objectives of our participation are twofold. The first topic is to analyze if there is any measurable effect on the success of the search queries if the native language and the interface language chosen by the user are different. The idea is to determine if this difference may condition the way in...
